Dr Peter Thompson

Peter has an extensive background and unique combination of developed skills and talents that qualify him as an invaluable coach, instructional designer and trainer for any organisation which values development and growth, particularly in an environment of change.

His background provides an ideal foundation for a coach and a facilitator of learning and personal evolution. Using his Honors science degree majoring in Chemistry and Mathematics he initially taught at both secondary and tertiary levels.

Becoming self-employed as a Science and Maths coach allowed him to pursue his interest in performing as a dancer as well as continuing to learn new disciplines.

In 1990 he embarked on an extensive program in professional training skills that led to him becoming a principal designer and deliverer of the original Optus Customer Service training in 1992. Since then he’s had the privilege of working with a large range of major organisations in the public, academic and private sectors.

Many of the programs that he has designed and implemented have gone on to become the foundational training outlines and design for major corporate programs involving marketing, category management, customer service, call centre management, billing systems, presentation skills, advanced facilitation skills, emotional intelligence, and self management.

His interest in learning and using it for developing himself and others motivated him to embark on gaining a Ph D in Cognitive Science. His thesis topic was An Interdisciplinary Approach to Belief Formation and Resistance to Change.

Gaining his Ph D gave impetus to the collaboration which led to the development of Generative Critical Thinking.
